3 Days 2 Nights Optimized DIY Phuket Trip

Im going to phuket with my friends (6 of us). Going to do a DIY for everything. Here is our itinerary. Can someone please advise (pros/cons) what we should do or shouldn't do based on our itinerary.

Day 1.

Arriving Phuket airport at 7.45am

We are going to rent a SUV and drive straight to Surakul Pier

- How long will it be?)

- Hows the road there?

- Is GPS / Google Maps / Waze to the pier? to navigate there.

We are going to rent a tail boat there (6 person)

- Price range. How much can we bargain?

Tour Phang Nga starts - Koh Panyee (before lunch our to escape the tourist load). Then sight seeing the islands and caves. Canoes.

- Any spectacular sight should we see?

- How much is the canoes (how much can we bargain)

- Is there a restaurant in Koh Panyee for us to have our early lunch

Back from Phang Nga - we will drive to our hotel at Moevenpick Bang Tao to check in

- How long will it takes us to drive from Sukarul pier to Bang Tao beach?

We will hangout at Bang Tao beach at our hotel.

- Any nearby massage that is good and reasonable price?

At night we will go for a dinner at Palm Seafood (plan to eat once at a nice place as we know through out the trip we will be eating a lot of street food restaurant).

Second day, we will drive to Chalong Pier to rent a speedboat to Racha Island. Any suggestion / tips for hiring a small speedboat for 6 of us?. We will bring our own picnic lunch or maybe we will have lunch at The Racha.

Back from snorkelling, we plan to either go to

- Patong Beach and have dinner at Banzan Market

- or Phuket Town and have dinner at Leam Kin Seafood at pier.

Which one is more suggestive? Patong beach or Phuket town?

3rd day, we will chill out at the hotel. Our flights will be at night so we have the whole day to ourselves. We really want to enjoy Bang Tao beach basically have a rest and chill out day before going back to airport (and go back to work the next day). So, we don't want to do anything tiring / sweaty / requires a lot of walk on the 3rd day. Any other activities that you can suggest for us to go around Bang Tao beach or northern Phuket (near to airport) after checking out.

Lots of questions.

I'll try to answer a few for you.

Airport to Sarkul pier: about 30-40 minutes. Google maps on your phone should be fine. Road is good.

Longtail should be about 2,000 baht (???) You may be able to bargain a little (especially if they start at 5,000.

(haven't been there this year)

Drive from Sankul pier to Bang Tao: about 1 hour (possibly less depends on time of day)

Massages nearby? Normally there are massage places everywhere on the island, but that is a high rent district so, not sure of prices up there. Normally massages are 300-400 baht per hour. (figure more right next to a 5 star resort)

Chalong pier. Not sure of speedboat prices.

That drive will take you at least an hour (from Mai Khao beach), more if during school rush hour (7:30-9:00)

Traffic is really tough that time of day (and again from 5-7PM)

Laem Hin seafood is a nice option (if you have a car, which you do), but it is not really in Phuket town.

It is quite a distance from "old town Phuket" which is nice as the architecture there is really Portuguese and many quaint antique shops etc.

@ Laem Hin, you can either have dinner on the pier or take a longtail out to one of the floating restaurants.

Boat is free (but food isn't!) LOL.

Have fun.

Thank you for your reply. Any worthy place to stop by on our way from Phang Nga to our Hotel at Bang Tao beach? Good eatery / local fishing village / awesome fish market that we can buy cheap fresh seafood to take to our apartment?

Last month I got 2500 baht for hiring a private long-tail boat from Samchong pier. I don't know how much from Surakul pier, but I read the cheapest longtail boat rental is from Phang Nga National Park Visitor Center, about 3km before Phang Nga town. Only 1000 baht there. Read this: thebeachfrontclub.com/guide/…d3-109

Speed boat to Racha (Raya) Island is 990 baht/person from www.rassadapier.com. It's a shared speed boat, don't know how much for a private one. Transfer from hotels in Patong/Karon/Kata is included for free, don't know how much from hotel in Bang Tao.

Back from Racha Island, i'd prefer to have dinner in Banzaan market. So many options with delicious taste and reasonable price. I love their "vegetable and mushrooms soup". So unforgetable!

Actually, it's more 'optimized' if you stay in Patong. You can have dinner in Banzaan market at the first night, and in Phuket town at the second. More choices of street foods and entertainment too in Patong than in Bang Tao. Don't forget to visit Bangla road :)

Thank you for your suggestion!!! We are staying at Bang Tao because we want to avoid the craziness of Patong. it is a getaway and just chill and relax holiday. We want to avoid crowd as much as possible hence staying at a secluded beach and opt for less touristy place and private tours.

We are torn between Banzan market at Patong and Laem Hin seafood at east coast. Both have raving reviews and cheap seafood. Laem Hin is more for local (so expect local price) and Banzan market for tourist (but I think it is still cheap there despite tourist price). We will make further research… :)

Transfer to anywhere is not a problem as we are renting our own car as we wan to optimise time by avoiding return transfer when we could use the transfer time to drop by restaurants or sightseeing on our way back from the island trip.
