When to go

Hi Everyone,

any valuable advice as to whether mid-July is a good time to go to Phuket (with kids and family), especially swimming-wise?

Thanks a lot!

The Beaches/ Seas, will typically be rougher than Dec/Jan/Feb.. Not always unswimmable ( If red flags are flying on the beach, do not swim), but definitely not as calm.

I personally swim in these months, but am experienced in the ocean. But my Wife and kids won't swim in the ocean and stick to the beautiful pools..!!

Everything else in Phuket is great at that time of year though and cheaper. But generally more rain..

Low season shouldn't keep people away from Thailand, however if perfect calm seas are required on holiday go in high season..

Have fun either way..!!!

It is rainy season seas can be rough and beaches can be red-flagged ( ie no swimming ) but if you choose to visit at that time of year is to be expected.

For better weather calm seas that time of year look st Koh Samui etc

The seas can be rough and beaches red flagged at that time of year in Phuket. All the West (Andaman) coast will be in its rainy season

You would be much better looking at the East (Gulf) coast which will be in it dry season in July. Check out Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Kok Tao.
