Look at sawadee.com for hotels in your budget.

You won't get much choice for that budget in Jabuary.

For January you will be better off to move your price up a couple hundred baht. You have no bargaining power with a short stay of 2 nights. Often if you book a hotel and tell them you want ten days or more they will discount the room.

If you have a typical 6-8 day Indian Thailand holiday and one of your other cities is Phuket - don't expect any hotel bargains there! Phuket is more expensive than Pattaya and local transportation can be a little expensive. For Pattaya local transportation is only 10 baht. And you do not have to fly there like Phuket or island areas. Just a cheap bus ride.

Look over some of the old posts on cheap hotels Pattaya that show up with a forum search. Use a real computer if you can. Not everything shows up on a smart phone. Be careful if you choose a hotel for a price you want but it is located so from the Pattaya City area that you lose money paying for custom taxi rides.

I usually advise tourists for short visits get a hotel not on or not far from Pattaya Sai Song and nearby side sois. You can WALK to many things from Beach Road and Sai Song. Pattaya Beach Road and Sai Song have most of the malls, good restaurants, nightlife, street vendors, etc.

Pattaya. Cheaper than Phuket!

New Star Hotel on Soi Honey Inn. Across from Intown Holiday Hotel.

Fan rooms around 300 baht.

There is "GOOD" hotels and "barely adequate" hotels.
