Elephant Park Pattaya

We will be arriving 0700 and depart 2000 hrs Leam Chabang in March on Queen Victoria . Booked the elephant park excursion which doesn't kick off till 1pm and think it might be better to hire a taxi and do a few things in Pattaya including the Elephants direct . Any ideas re places to visit in the time frame and costs with Taxi's and or drivers etc

By the way if visiting Canada and jasper in particular look up our Wyndswept B& B report from 2011. Fabulous value!

Cheers Bert and Jenny

For comparison you can take private owned taxi from Pattaya to Bangkok for 800 baht plus tolls. But from Laem Chabang you may be skarewed. Laem Chabang front gate is around 10 minutes from Pattaya City area. Bangkok is around 2 hours away. See what your ship can arrange for you. Once you get to the main street (Sukhumvit) transportation is cheaper. In Pattaya City area local transportation is only 10 baht using baht buses. Not that many taxis. Read up on how to use baht buses in Pattaya. Have coins!

For Pattaya City area start on Sai Song not far from Central.

You can visit malls opening around 10 a.m., there are many of them, visit good restaurants, Ripley's Believe it or Not is at the Royal Garden Mall. Get cheap dental work. Shop at a supermarket for things not available on the ship. If it is Tuesday or Friday visit the Soi Baukhao flea market.

Good luck.
