1 week in Pattaya **1st timers**

Me and my friend ( both male in early 20s ) are travelling to Thailand in the 1st week of Dec 2012.. need your help in sorting the trip. Total budget available is 10,000/- Bhat each

We are looking to spend no more than 700 Bhat per night and are looking to explore the place during the day and party hard during the night. Please advise on the trip

Day 1 - Sunday night reach Bkk 1 am and take bus to Pattaya and check into a motel on walking street.

Day 2 - day trip to Koh Lan and back in Pattaya by 17 30.. walking street spots like mixx and lucifers at night.

Day 3 - deep sea diving or dirt biking.. please advise any other spot for good nightlife apart from WALKING STREET

DAY 4 - was planning to go to PHUKET by bus.. but after reading posts... thinking of going to Koh Samed or Koh Chang. **suggestions**

Day 5 - not planned ( if in pattaya, may be the zoo or the famous temple )

Day 6 - not planned

Day 7 - back to Bkk to catch flight back home.

Our idea is to party hard and have fun like young blokes...

Your dreaming, on a total budget of 10,000 baht once you arrive in Bangkok bus it to Pattaya pay for your accommodation well your broke almost.

To do as you wish between the two of you partying hard and etc you will need about 15,000 baht per day and that's being reasonable.

Good luck fellas.

Bangkok to Phuket by bus is a 12 hour ride. Phuket will be more expensive than Pattaya. Local transportation in Pattaya is only 10 baht.

For Pattaya Walking Street is the most expensive area for nightlife. When you look at a map of Pattaya there is nightlife from just above North Pattaya Road all the way down to South Pattaya Road. Not to mention various side sois like Soi Diana, Soi Honey Inn and Soi Buak

Power went off.

You will run into time and money constraints. Check out some of the older posts on hotels. If the old post is for summer visits add another 100 or 200 baht to hotel prices for December.

Hey fellas...

Thanks for your responses..

I've got a few questions..

1 ) Howz the nightlife during the 1st week of Dec

2) Infidelal : Please advise us on things to do on DAY 4,5, & 6. Should we head off to one of the islands Koh Samed or Koh Chang as PHUKET is way too far and expensive..

Cheers

Hey Dude,

Last year I went to Patttaya same time so I thought I would share some of my expenses with you.

1. Grab a hotel that has breakfast complimentary. Eat heavy during the day so that you can just munch at McDonalds or Burger King.

2. Meals in Fast Food brands (McDonalds, BurgerK etc.) is approx 1.75 Times what we pay in India.

3. Drinks in good clubs like Lucifer (must visit) is around 200 Bhat for a Large Jack Daniel.

4. Avoid Taxis cause they kill tourists with their own fare.. just walk and take a nearby hotel to the walking street.

5. Thai Message costs 2000-3000 Bhatt.

6. At the end of the walking street there is a russian strip club (can't remember the name). It's a cool place but the drinks are very expensive.

7. Do not use Airport currency exchange. Just exchange currency from Delhi itself.

8. Be prepared to pay some money to your hotel as security fees. around 1000-2000 Bhatt. Some hotels requires you to pay security.

Btw, I will be visiting in January again. It's a great place and full of life. Have a great trip.

You want to party hard at night, you want to stay hotel near walking street, and you want to go to some of the island like Koh Lan,Koh Samed or Koh Chang, you want to party hard like young blokes and all this for a total budget of 10,000 baht for 7 days or as you say 700 baht baht a night,i am not sure of your idea of partying hard but i think you will not be having much fun or be partying hard on your budget,on average for a good night out you are looking at about 5000 baht a night each.Thailand is a cheap holiday destination but not that cheap,i don,t think you would even be able to have a good enjoyable night of partying in your own country on that budget. Are you a pair of comedians who have put this post on here to give us all a good laugh if so it has worked because i have not stopped laughing since i read your post.Good luck

my advice to you both - stay at home save a lot more money - when you have

4/5 times 10000 baht, you can come to pattaya and party as two old men.

good luck cheap charlies ;you will give genuine punters a bad name.have you noticed that not one reply is positive to your intentions

Good. Lots of bars from South Pattaya to North Pattaya. Lots of tourists means more bar employees.

You have what appears to be a typical Indian tourist holiday. Lots of things you want to do in a short amount of time. My advice is to stay longer in Bangkok and Pattaya. Why waste money on trips to an island area for only a couple hours? Bangkok is much cheaper than Phuket when you factor in the cheap city transportation. Good nightlife in Sukhumvit Nana area and you can use overhead rail service called the Skytrain.

You can check some of the tours available from local travel agencies. They pick you up and drive you to tour sites further from Bangkok and Pattaya.

P.S. Beer bars are much cheaper than go-go bars and nightclubs. You can live on fried rice (vegetarian available) from around 35 baht to 60 baht a plate depending on if it is a supermarket restaurant or a small Thai restaurant. You can buy some food in supermarkets for sandwiches or things you add water to like noodle soup or instant coffee.

For some of the Russian clubs - unless you look Russian you may not even get in if they are crowded. Why go to a place where you are not wanted and also pay more for drinks than elsewhere? Cheaper go-go type bars on Soi Yammato and Soi Post office. But in the end it is always cheaper to shop at beer bars for everything.

For the return ride to Bangkok you can use a bus from the bus station on North Pattaya Road. Get off at the Ekamai bus terminal in Bangkok. Right in front of you to the right will be the Nana Skytrain station. Skytrain can take you to many hotels. Choose a hotel in Nana area. The Skytrain will take you to MBK and to Chatuchak Weekend Market.

You can use Skytrain and Rail link to get you close to Pratunam shopping. (From Ratchathewi stop you can walk to Phetchaburi Road or use Skytrain to Phaya Thai and connect with Rail Link to Ratchaprorop. Walk from there to Pratunam shopping.)
