VIP Bus, X Bus, A Bus to Chiang Rai

What is the difference between X and A bus?

How much is the fare for all 3 bus?

Besides VIP bus, does X and A bus have toilet on board?

I had looked into the green bus website, they didn't state the fares.

And there are few timings with 1 star and some with 2 star. What does it mean?

Thank you!

Hi,

You should be able to do get one the same day unless it's a Thai holiday, but obviously there are no guarantees.

Cheers

Hi all,

Just share the easiest way buying bus ticket to chiang rai.

Call up greenbus office @ 053266480.

Press 9 for English.

Then follow instrucrion.

Book the ticket with an operator n she will give you a code.

Go to any 7-11 within 2 hrs with the code and tell them paying for chai patana company (greenbus).

Vip bus 288thb

X class 185thb

I bought 2 tickets for x class, paid additional 25thb for 7-11 service fee. So total 395thb.

7-11 will issue an receipt n thats the ticket for bus.

No hassles, I bought the tickets few days in advance.

Vip bus seats are bigger n can recline.

X class seats smaller.

dor66 thanks for this. Can you just clarify - did you have to change the receipt over for tickets once you got to the bus station - or were they the actual tickets?

We were issued a receipt from a travel agent in town as well - but when we got to the bus we found we had to line up and change the receipt to actual tickets (it took ages!).

That sounds like a good way to do it if you get actual tickets.

Caroline.

Just to confirm that the X class buses have toilets on board and the A class do not. Both stop midway through the journey for about 15 minutes at a place with toilets and where you can buy snacks.

If you are travelling at the weekend then it's best to buy tickets in advance and I'd buy tickets in advance for the VIP bus when it's peak tourist season.
