We are both fit 68 years annual 4 week stays in Chiang Mai and strict low budget travellers.
With the political environment improving in Myanmar, we would like to consider a low budget one week trip without trying to hit all the spots; just the very best at a slower pace. Travel starts in early Jan'14. For now YYZ - CNX - BKK - YYZ . Returning home end Feb. Instead of the Mae Sai 15 day extension, wanted to include a trip to Myanmar.
1. Can we get a visa in Chiamg Mai and what is involved or should we first stop in Bangkok for a fw days, get a visa and head to Myanmar for trip. If so can we get a less expensive flight to Chiang Mai or would it be significantly less expensive to rrturn to Bangkok and then fly to Chiang Mai?
2) Whatever solution is the most sensible and cost effective in terms of energy and money conserved is there and agent in the old quarter of Chiang Mai or near a BTS in Bangkok that will reliably and in good time get us the Visas. No idea what they charge or the response time.
