A hotel with a balcony at Chang Mai.

Hello, can any one please advise of a hotel with a balcony in Chang Mai for June /July 2013. Budget $50 AUD - 1600 THB. Can go higher.

Close the the river or old city.

Had a look at

and

BanThai Village

Saw some awesome but very expensive ones. WOW.

Any help appreciated, just starting on a new city.

Thanks.

If you can go a little higher, have a look at Baan Orapin which is riverside.

We stayed there last year and loved it.

Hi We stayed at the Bohdi Serene in Oct and really enjoyed it. It is in the Old City. The rooms are large - the bath tub is huge, rooms are clean, balcony is pleasant. Worth having a look at.

Thanks mickshazz, checking it out.

Location looks good, service seems a bit up and down for that price range. Added to favourites 2013.

Thanks again. tripadvisor.com.au/Hotel_Review-g293917-d777…

My vote is also for Baan Orapin. Stayed for 6 nights in 2009 and loved it. We stayed in a junior suite at the rear of the property. Such a beautiful calm oasis to come back to after a day out. On the riverside with many excellent restuarants and a short walk to night market and the old city, although we did catch a tuk tuk back on a few occasions due to the large load of shopping bags we were carrying and from memory the tuk tuks were very cheap anyway. Will definately stay there again on our next visit in September.

Pool and upstairs private balcony, all looking very good but just moved the budget up a notch or two.

Thanks all. I'll tell you if I get in or not.

Hi, got http://www.baanorapin.com/ deposit paid upstairs out the back. Told a friend and he is staying there at Easter to see his son. Hope he comes back with good reviews.

If you are staying at Baan Orapin just double check which room you have. I thought I had booked an upstairs room with a balcony when I stayed there, but ended up in a really cramped little downstairs room with a small porch - this was a superior room in the rear wing. The porch and windows were both right on a path and there was quite a bit of traffic going back and forward so not good for privacy. The garden setting and pool are lovely though - just make sure you are clear on which room you are booking, I'd go for a suite.
