Which hotel to stay

Planning to go to Chiang Mai mid Nov 2012 for 3-4 days.

Trying to decide between the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel or Centara Duangatawan?

Any recommendations.

Hi,

We have stayed at both. The Imperial Mae Ping is older than the Centara and a little futher away from the night bazaar. They are similar standard of hotel. We prefer the Centara Duangtawan for a number of reasons.... most are covered here...

This was just posted last week by a forum regular.

There is always debate about Centara but it also has a lot of fans.

Have fun deciding.

Caroline.

The Home Place Guest House Chiang Mai is infested with fleas! They show you the room and at a first look it seems fine, right? It's only when you try resting on the bed after a long day of travel that the fleas get stirred up!!

And they really chewed on me. I was scratching the bloody flea bites and putting on lotion to try and ease the discomfort for days afterward.

A good guest house to NOT stay in is the Home Place Guest House.

The room was dirty. There were still potato chip crumbs, seven empty Chang bottles next to the bed, and two used pizza boxes under the TV. Even the garbage can was still full!

So, the fermented beer smell, combined with the greasy odor of old pizza, and rotting banana peels in the garbage can was disgusting. It was really gross.

The staff were rude and dismissive. They never cleaned the room, so I checked out the next morning.

The Home Place Guest House Chiang Mai in Thapae Gate is an awful guest house.

Sarah, the forum is not the place for accomodation reviews. Please post your review in the correct section.
