How bad are the floods in the North

I am leaving for Thailand on Monday and will be in the north of Thailand (Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son) in about a week and a half. I just read that the North of thailand is flooded so bad..the worst in 100 years. I assume this means my trek is off, but does anyone with experience in this region, know if I should cancel my trip to the north completely?

See the lonely planet forum, but our resident friends say all will be normal in 2-3 days.

Use this shorter link to the Lonely Planet forum:

Here's a tip: Turn long Web links into short links at www.tinyurl.com

The situation is much better now. However, Mae Hong son has got more damage. I think the best way is checking with the hotel you will stay.
