We visited Thailand during Sept 16-30 and came across no issues with flooding. We were in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and in the between and surrounding areas. Yes, it rained almost every day but most days for only 30 min or so, in the late afternoon/early evening. It was not an issue for us at all.
it was AWFULLY bad yesterday..but today its alrite again in bkk
Todays Bangkok Post tell us here in BKK to prepare for possibly the worst flooding since 1995. This is not due to expected heavy rains but the run-off from water that usually falls north of the dams upcountry and are caught in said dams. This year most of the rain fell south of the dams and is presently flowing south. All depends on weather there is time to somehow have the pressure lifted by
diverting water from the field into The Gulf of Thailand. We'll wait and see..........
