I'm only going to post this once. I see no need to reply to any and all threads related to it.
At this point, my best suggestion is to find a different guide.
The little missus just got off the phone with a monk at Wat Takien.
The monk said that many foreigners come to Wat Takien and ask about Bang Khu Wiang floating market.
Just as I suspected, Bang Khu Wiang “floating market”, isn’t a market at all. In fact, according to the monk, the “market” hasn’t operated for close to 60 years.
What does happen is that monks will paddle the klongs and receive alms at different people’s homes. The junction of Klong Bang Khu Wiang and Klong Om Non is a convenient spot for tour boats to possibly catch some monks in action. But, there is no market. Early morning is when they pass through.
Although weekends are much busier, Wat Takien floating market is still open 7 days. The boat noodle ladies close on Fridays. The boat vendor, selling duck, has been there every time we have visited. Other vendors vary, from day to day, and at different times of day. Again, earlier is better than later.
As far as Nonthaburi Market is concerned, it is a great place to visit to experience a classic “wet” market. However, I truly doubt many would partake of the tasty treats offered. Much of it is too “real” for the average tourist. And, it is not, by any means, a floating market.
