Departure Tax BKK- Australia

This is at the moment 500Baht. When the new airport is operational I have heard that it will be 700Baht Departure Tax. Is this correct.

the increase is due to come into effect on Feb. 1, 2007... not when the airport opens....

Hi Mosegrisen,

Does the 700Baht departure tax also apply if you're leaving the country from Phuket?

Yes, it is a Thai departure tax... no matter which airport you leave from. Still 500 baht per person though.

If you are leaving from Samui.... you can opt to pay this.. and avoid the usual 300 baht airport maintenance fee.... but only if you are staying in transit at BKK and connecting directly with International flight.

Other taxes and fees are generally included in your ticket.
