Sightseeing Plan - Advice Appreciated

Hi All

Im just planning one of our days out in Bangkok and would really appreciate some help.

I would like to know if I plan to visit the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew in the morning, would I then be near the River City Pier to go on the Rice Barge Cruise at 14:30?

The cruise is described as following -

You will journey up the river, passing major attractions and landmarks, such as Chinatown, the Memorial Bridge, The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Royal Barges Museum, then explore the khlongs of Bangkok Noi and Wat Arun.

I would also like to know if I am just repeating the morning by going on the cruise afterwards and whether it would be better to see something else in the afternoon?

I hope this makes sense(!) and would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Many thanks in advance

Emma

Wat Pho is a 2 minute walk from Grand Palace. If coming from Central Pier you will pass China town stop and Memorial Bridge on way to GP and on way back.

Sounds like a nice leisurely cruise on the river and khlongs if that is what you are looking for, if there are other things you would prefer to see then why not consider a dinner cruise on the river instead and get to see the city from the river illuminated.

Thank you for your replies and suggestions, much appreciated.

Cassnu - Funnily enough, it was from one of your posts that I had got the idea of the Rice Barge Tour as you had enjoyed it so much, so I looked it up! Its settled, we are going on it!
