5 days between tours, where to go to relax?

We will be in Bangkok the end of October, having finished a 15 day tour of Thailand from Bangkok to Chang Rai and back. We have 5 days before heading off to Cambodia and Vietman. I am trying to find a relaxing beach area to go to that is not too far away or difficult to get to with some things to do, good seafood and relaxing. Kids are grown and this is our first long trip without them! So, we be flexible! A nice area/hotel but don't want to mortgage the house to go.What suggestions can you make?

This is my first post...hope this helps!

thanks.

Hua Hin is a 3 hour or so drive from Bangkok and is a nice laid back town on the coast but with quite a vibrant night market and lots of good restaurants (particularly sea food). I personaly would stay at a hotel a little along the beach out of town as the beaches nearest the town tend to be quite busy.

October is a bit hit and miss weather wise throughout Thailand so a bit of rain can be expected anywhere but often is limited to an hour or so downpour in a day (often in the evening) and then drying up.

Hi

I'm wholeheartedly agree with LondonChris Hua Hin is your best option, close to Bangkok and drier than anywhere else in Thailand in October.

Happy holiday

Hi,

I agree, Hua Hin is a good bet. For somewhere quieter with excellent seafood is Prachaup Khiri Khan which is south of Hua Hin. Just south of town is an excellent beach with shallow waters. PKK can be reached by rail from Bangkok.

Hua Hin is a good choice.

Pattaya is a 2 hour bus ride from Bangkok. The beach is NO GOOD for actual swimming but okay for jogging, sunbathing, shopping, nightlife, etc. All sorts of hotels available starting from around 600/700 baht - including air conditioning, private toilet, TV and sheets and towels. And everything in between up to more expensive hotels of course. (See Pattaya Forum for more hotel help and other info.)

You can relax, use a hotel pool. Walk around, visit one of the many moder malls, even take in a current movie at cheap prices, etc. There is nightlife but you can avoid it or stop in. Local transportation is only 10 baht. Local travel agencies, like Bangkok, can provide tours on short notice.

Now you have a couple suggestions close to Bangkok. Actual beach type swimming at Hua Hin is a little better. (Bus to Pattaya from Ekamai bus terminal is around 125 baht.)

Up to you.

I am visiting Bangkok in the month of November 2013. I will choose BANGKOK LOFT IN for stay. HOW IS THIS HOTEL? How can i find out a RELIABLE SMART GIRL AS ESCORT during my entire THAILAND TRIP?

Hua Hin is ideal if you're just looking for a place to relax after a tour we are also planning a few days there after our trip to Myanmar, no point in going South to the better beaches for just a few days.
