Hi,

I am in Bangkok for 5 nights in December, wondering if anyone could please give me directions how to get to Bobae Market from Sukhumvit (Asoke)

Thanks in advance,

Take the MRT from Sukhumvit station (at Asoke intersection) to Hualumpong station, then take a taxi. The market is in the fringes of Chinatown.

I just saw that the Bobae market has no reviews as of yet. Janice might be the first to review!

Is it a new market? I don't think I've seen it mentioned before unless it's also known by another name?

Its been around for years. Its a wholesale clothing market. Here's another thread about it:

Take the MRT one station to Petchaburi. Leave the station by Exit 2 and change to the Saen Saep Canal Boat (Asoke Pier). You will have to change boats at Pratunam - just follow the crowd.

Bobae Market is the third stop after Pratunam.

Taking the boat is fastest way and avoiding traffic jam if u are familiar.

Next best is to take taxi all the way to Bobae mkt and tell Taxi to alight at Prince Palace hotel and u are right at Garment tower doorstep. Please come after 1030 am.and the fare is about 80-100bhts and depend on traffic

condition.Have travel by taxi from Nana to

Bobae costing about 70 baht and return by boat to Pratunam Pier.

Hi All,

Thanks a million for all your information.

Bill2p, If I take the canal boat from Pratunam, do I get off the boat, the stop before Chinatown, or am I away in another place, sorry for being so stupid.

Regards,

Janice

Please read the link I posted. You get off the boat at the Bobae Market stop. That's 3 stops after Pratunam. It's sign-posted. The pier is right beside the market.
