Hi can anyone tell me if the the taxis(car not minibus) outside Bangkok airpot carry three passengers & luggage & how much we can expect to pay?
Ignore all taxi touts inside and outside the terminal. Step outside the doors and look for the sign for the "Public Taxi" desk. Tell the dispatcher your destination and he'll call over a driver and issue you with a chit.
To most destinations in central Bangkok, the taxi will cost around 220 baht on the meter, 50 baht airport surcharge, plus 70 baht in expressway tolls. So a total of around 350 baht.
Don't even discuss a flat rate.
Never negotiate with a Bangkok taxi driver. He uses his meter or you're out of there and taking another cab. The usual process is to lean into the taxi and tell him your destination. If he nods yes, you get in the taxi and he starts the meter.
Within central Bangkok, taxi fares are rarely more than 80-100 baht for a trip right across town.
Never use taxis lurking around hotels or tourist attractions. Always wave down a moving taxi on the street.
Yes taxis can take 3 plus luggage, when you get to the arrivals hall head out exit door 10 (furthest exit to your left) tell the girl at the stand your location and she will get you the next driver in line. Depending where your going the cost will be between 300 and 400bht.
On our last 2 trips to Bangkok, there was only room in the taxi for my wife in the back seat with 1 luggage bag, 1 bag in the boot and me in the front.
Our children are coming with us next March, so there will be 4 of us and 3 luggage bags. Will they have large cabs or mini vans to take all of us.
There are larger, minivan cabs. If there isn't one available, you could always take 2 sedans - one with each parent.
We paid 350Baht from airport to hotel in Pratunam.
weve booked in advance TB 1150 for feb we know its over the top but after a long flight from the UK its £21 well spent for someone waiting for us in the arrivels hall to take us to the hotel lol! on the way back well just get the taxis from bangkok or bus ext
