Supermarket similar to Mustafa (Singapore)

I have recently been in Singapore, and was very impressed by the Mustafa Shopping Centre in Little India.

My wife and I will be travelling to BKK shortly, and we wonder whether there is a store in BKK that is similar to Mustafa in Singapore. Or is Big C the answer?

Not sure what Mustafa is, but Central Chidlom and Central World have big food hall supermakets. They also own the Tops chain of supermarkets that are found in most Central & Robinson department stores.

The only place I can think of is MBK. It has a wide range of goods and you can bargain eg shoes, mens, ladies clothes, mobile phones, sunglasses, jewellery....

Although I didn't see many toy shops at all. I think there was only 1 small one.

Big C is like Carrefour or Tesco Lotus. These shops are not quite like Mustafa. You can do a google search for Big C, Tesco, Carrefour in bangkok and when you go into their website, they all have catalogues you can browse through, so you get an idea of what is there and the price.

Hope this helps

Places like Central World are quite expensive, definitely not similar to Mustafa.

Yeah, MBK may be closest (in terms of things easy to find for tourists).

Or maybe platinum mall on pratunam road. I guess it's going to be for you to judge and also what all you want to buy?

In my opinion, MBK has stalls and stalls, shops and shops but with seller in each place. Mustafa is like a multi-storey supermarket and opens around the clock.

The nearest version could be Lotus, Carrefour and BigC but they are smaller than Mustafa. If you’re after clothes, Pratunam and Bo Bae have lower prices than what you see in Mustafa. Go to Panthip Plaza if you need electronic stuff.

Btw, for those who have not been to Mustafa, it has a website http://www.mustafa.com.sg/index.asp

Btw, did anyone go to the biggest Tesco Lotus in Bangkok? I’ve heard there’re 8 floors and it’s not near tourist area.
