Travellers Cheques

I am a first time traveller to Thailand, and I am unsure of what currency and travellers cheques to take. Could anyone advise me please which is best to take, dollar or stirling travellers cheques ? and do you get a better rate exchanging money in Thailand than England?

Thank You

You're better taking sterling travellers cheques than dollar cheques and you'll get a better rate of exchange in Thailand than here. I'm planning on taking about 50 pounds in baht out with me and the rest in sterling travellers cheques.

If you don't already have one,I would advise opening a Nationwide account and use the ATM machines. There are no charges if you use the debit card, and normal charges for using the credit card. You also get the best exchange rates this way.No commisssion to pay.
