I was considering using a VPN for acessing the internet while in Thailand.
Does that present any legal concerns? Is that a problem? I understand that the internet is regulated in Thailand, and I don't want to run afoul of anyone or send up unnecessay red flags.
I'm not planning to do anything nefarious at all, but worried that just the use of a VPN is problematic.

55 helpful votes There’s nothing illegal about using a VPN in Thailand. In fact many use one not just for getting around websites blocked by the government censors, but for accessing sensitive sites like online banking when using insecure hotel wifi networks.
As far as I know VPNs are prohibited.
Well, that's a pretty Stark difference of opinion! Anyone else have further insight?
Also, for what it's worth, I'm not trying to get around any government censorship.

55 helpful votes Once you’re on a VPN, your traffic is encrypted and no one’s going to know whether you’re reading the Daily Mail (horrors!), watching a factual TV report about the king, or just paying your bills.
Been using 2-3 different VPNs since I've been here, no probs!
