Vertigo bar

Off to Thailand in ten days and really want to spoil myself and my girlfriend, we want to go for a couple of drinks in the Virtigo bar and Im wondering is it ok to go there just for drinks and not eat, I have heard that the food is very expensive there and not that good.

Also what are the prices for beers and the average for cocktails.

Any comments would be excellant.

Hi Kwal

I stayed at the banyan tree last year with my girlfriend we never ate at the restaurant but did go up to vertigo for a few drinks and were never asked if we were hotel guests or not? So you shouldnt have any problems.

However they do have a dress code so no shorts etc.

1 More little tip is to go there for sunset and watch the sky go black as the city lights up beneath you.

Sorry cant remember drink prices i think they were roughly what we pay here in a good bar or club in the u.k

Hi Kwal

I emailed Vertigo regarding having drinks at the Moon Bar and what their dress code was. This was their reply:

"Greetings from Banyan Tree Bangkok !

Regarding to your question, for The Moon bar is first come first serve no need make reservation. We have dress code for evening time for gettleman should be wear long pants & closed shoes.

Best regards,

Supaporn Sawasdee (Su)

Hostess"

I had already asked them for their menu as we were going to go there with two kids aged 12 and 16. I didn't feel the menu was suitable for kids that age and was also very expensive, so we too are just going for drinks.
