Where to go?

I am looking at taking my family to Thailand at teh end of this year.

My wife and I have been there twice before in 1998 and 2004.

Our last trip was to Koh Lanta and Ao Nang. We want to stay on an island but not surrounded by 5 star hotels. We want to give our kids a bit of the bungalow experience, and good Thai food.I am not sure how much Thailand has changed in the last 8 years as my wife and I noticed a fair bit of change in the 6 years between our trips. My children are 5 and 7. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Try the coast of Trang or one of its islands. Air asia and Nok air fly to Trang from Bangkok.

A bit of that "old" Thailand is still here on Koh Chang and much more on the neighboring island Koh Kood. Take a look.
