Sharing list of Taxi Tour Guide in Taiwan

Hi all,

I just went to a couple of places in Taiwan this month and would like to share my experience with you. Generally good service and a few highly recommended ones.

For your reference:

Day 1 One Day tour from TaiChung, ends at CingJing

Taxi: Mr Zhang Zhong Wen, Taiwan number: 0916-159300

Cost: TWD 4000 for 4 pax

Places we went:

1) Green Tunnel (A road shaded by trees hovering above making it look like a tunnel made up by trees)

2) Ji Ji train station (a sub urban train station)

3) Che Chen Mu Ye Zhan Shi Guan (A small museum that shows how wood products are processed from tree logs)

4) Sun Moon Lake (Had lunch at a local restaurant having authentic local dishes)

5) 18 degree chocolate at Pu Li (Awesome chocolates and ice cream with free coffee & tea)

Comments: Mr Zhang is very polite and he would try his best to work around our requests. He helped us enrolled local calling cards and brought us to train station where we can buy our train tickets for next day since it's really difficult to get train tickets at that point of time. We spent Day 2 with Mr Zhang too, For 4 pax, he charged TWD 3000 from Cingjing then back to Taichung the next day.

Day 3 One Day Tour at Hualien

Taxi: Ms Gu Hui Zhen Taiwan number: 0935-083682

Email add: mom88168@yahoo.com.tw

Cost: TWD 3000 for 4 pax

Places we went:

1) Taroko (we tried to access but the place is closed for maintenance due to the aftermath of hurricanes)

2) Lunch at Hualien City (Recommended Local famous dishes)

3) Li Yu Tang (a lake with mountain that looks like koi fish)

4) Bai Bao Xi (a river with crystal clear water where we pick raw jade stones)

5) Dinner at Hualien City (famous hai pu oyster, tomoto curry rice etc)

Next Day we also engaged Ms Gu's Taxi for half day tour at TWD 2000 for 4 pax.

Places we went:

1) Tze Chzi

2) Lunch at li chuan yu chang (had local breed "la-la")

3) See us off at Hualien train station

Very warm hospitality. Very considerate and delicate person. She works with passion to what she does and very chatty and knowledgeable about Hualien. Going the extra mile to do things that she doesn't have to such as helping us to engage trustworthy night shift driver to pick us up from train station at wee hours to our minsu and getting trusted taxi driver to sent us back to our minsu after dinner on second night. Highly recommended!!!

Day 5, 6 & 8 Tour around Jiufen, Taipei & back to airport.

Taxi: Jacky Wang Taiwan number: 0955-074213

Email add: totaland88@hotmail.com

Cost: TWD 4000/3000/1000 for 4 pax

Place we went: Day 5

1) Jinguashi

2) Golden waterfall

3) Yin Yang Sea

4) Yelieu Geopark (where we had lunch too)

5) Jin Shan Lao Jie

6) Shifen (Waterfall & Sky Lantern)

7) Ji Long night market (Dinner)

Places we went: Day 6

1) YangMingShan for hotspring (authentic hotspring where we had lunch too)

2) Long Shan Si (ancient old temple)

3) Taipei 101

4) Wu Fen Pu (Dinner & shopping)

Awesome service from Jack. He would go the extra mile to walk with us in some places, practically a personalised tour guide! he would recommend whats good to buy, what to look out for, what's more value for money. Very personable with good values in life. He knew that my mom love peaches, and he offer to buy the peaches for her when my mom couldnt find it. Very nice gesture. Very thoughtful and helpful when we needed assistance to plan our journey. Thumbs up!!!

Day 7 One day tour in Taipei

Taxi: Meeky Yang Taiwan number: 0921-915586

Email add: Meeky589@yahoo.com.tw

Cost: TWD 3300 for 4 pax

Places we went:

1) Zhong Lei Ci (Guards Marching, changing shift ceremony)

2) Shi Lin Gong Shi

3) YangMingShan (XiaoYouKang, Lengshuikang, Qingtiangang, lubaishehupo)

4) Danshui lao jie

5) Yu ren ma tou (lover's bridge, lover's revolving tower)

6) Shilin night market

7) Raohe night market

Gentle and meek. Very knowledgeable of Taipei/taiwan history. Share alot on the places of interest. Good service and passionate in what he does. Giving good info on the different seasons recommended to visit Yangmingshan. Going the extra mile to our requests to bring us to 2 night markets in one night. Hardworking person i would say.

With the above info, hope it helps some of you who wants to plan a trip in Taiwan. In general, having a tour guide who can drive you around the places of interest saves a lot of time, safe and provide lots of convenience for you, especially if you are on a trip with family or you have generally no idea how to get around to the places of interest.

Have fun and all the best!
