Short (4-5 day) trek

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could come up with a suggestion for a short but interesting trek pretty much anywhere in the Himalayas but, preferably, in the Annapurna region.

I will be doing the EBC trek first and won't have time left before my flight back home.

Also, can anyone tell me what the general opinion on the Mountain Monarch trekking agency is? Anyone have any reliable trekking agency suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your replies and the best of luck to everyone,

Mila

The 'classic' short trek in the area is

Day 1: Pokhara - Nyapul by road. Trek to Tirkedungha (or Ullieri if your Everest jaunt has left you feeling fit !)

Day 2: Trek to Ghorepani

Day 3: Trek to Ghandruk

Day 4: Trek to Birethanti then Nyapul. Road back to Pokhara

I'll send you a list of agents via a Private Message

Alanyeti,

Thanks a lot for your advice.

It has actually just occured to me that I don't have to do a trek - I could just go rafting instead.

Any thoughts on that? Any suggestions?

Thanks and all the best,

Mila

True !

The Trisuli is an amusing 1 - 3 day trip, though the fact that a road shares the valley detracts slightly from the experience.

I've rafted the Kali Gandaki a couple of times - 1/2 day, then full day, then final half day, camping on the river bank. More exciting river - 3 or 4 quite big rapids, and lots of smaller ones, and a feeling of remoteness apart from the final stretch where what used to be a couple of hours paddle along a lake has now been replaced by sitting back as you are towed down by an ancient boat crammed with passengers

. . . and whilst you are in Pokhara it's worth taking a taxi to Sarangkot (if the weather's clear) - about 45 minutes drive - to enjoy fabulous views of the Annapurnas.

Alanyeti,

Thanks for more great tips. Yes, I might do just that - a couple of days rafting plus Kathmandu and Pokhara (and Sarangkot) sightseeing.

Again, many thanks to you and the best.

Mila
