Hello there,

Congratulations on planning to visit Nepal for a tour and treks.

There are numbers of companies in Nepal which offers tours and treks in Nepal, Tibet, India and Bhutan. As you asked about World Expeditions, it's a popular tour operator but is not a local company. I suggest you to use locally based company because the money you pay directly goes to Nepal. And, there are numbers of companies and most of them are good in their services.

If none of your friends are interested in trekking you can do it with a guide and you do not need to join a group. You can meet numbers of people on the way for talking. The most negative part if you join a group is, your guide won't be able to take care of you indivisually and he wo't be able to fulfill indivisual needs so as a trek guide I suggest you not to join a group.

And, if you are looking for a company then you may try company that I am working for. The company name is Ambition Himalaya Treks and Expedititions Pvt. Ltd.

Site: http://www.ambitionhimalaya.com

And, the guides themselves are the owner of the company so that you can expect for better services.

If you need more information then please post in the forum.

With best regards,

Upendra is right - you could always hire a guide and porter and have a personalised trek, (or indeed a full team of guide, porters, cook, etc if you wanted to camp, though that's a more expensive option).

www.3sistersadventure.com is a Nep[alese agency that specialises in providing female trekking staff - it might be worth your while to visit their site

Hi Again,

The trips are run as per the available date of the client so that you may not see the dates in the site. You can ask for the price as per your date by sending them enquiry. Normally trek differs accommodation. If you are trekking to remote area where tea houses are not available then they operate treks / tours in tented camp and if there are tea houses they operate tea house trek.

If you need more information regarding a particular tour then you can enquire them and ask about detail itinerary and includes / excludes.

Regards,

Upendra

5. Re: tours to nepal

THANKS AGAIN for all the information.

i would like to do trekking, for about 4 to 5 days, and also go to a 3 day saffari, but the thing is i dont know much about Nepal, so ofcourse i'll need help to choose which or where to go, so i'll have a look at these websites you gave me, and try to deceide which one is the best to take for me.

it will be great to have a guide for myself, but that might get to expencive to have a porter a cook and guide just for me???? so i guess i'll have to join a group at least for the treck.

thanks again

Hi Tessa,

As written before, you don´t HAVE to join a group, it is very easy to just get yourself a guide or porter or porterguide and design your own plan. It gives you much more freedom. And it will be so easy along the way to meet like-minded people, who you can choose to hang out with, walking during the day or spending time together inn the evenings.

If you research a bit more you will see that it is not really expensive to go "on your own", with your own guide/porter.

I would advise to contact a few agencies and compare their services and prices and see what feels best.

As mentioned before, threesisters can offer only female guides, which might be more comfortable for you. Here on the site and also on lonelyplanet forum you can ask for recommendations. But always do some research and compare and follow your "guts" feeling.

I can recommend you another company called Above the Himalaya (www.nepalguidetrek.com) who I have used last december, I also went solo just like you and am also female, and all went very well. If you want to know more about my experience you can send me a message.

Enjoy planning your trip!

Hi Again,

First of all, if you want to to Tea House / Lode Trek then you do not need any cooks because you can order and get your food in the lodges. If you are looking for 4/5 days trekking and 3 days safari then I think Ghorepani Trek + Chitwan Jungle Safari will be the brilliant idea for you. More over you can get a porter guide who will carry your bag + show you the way and things which will help you to reduce cost. Even, if you are looking to join a group then you can ask for the agencies by searching online.

Try this itinerary:

(5 Days Trek):

Day 01: Drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and Trek to Ulleri

Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani

Day 03: Trek to Tada Pani

Day 04: Trek to Ghandruk

Day 05: Trek to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

(3 Days Jungle Safari):

Day 01: Drive to Chitwan

Day 02: Full Day Jungle Safari in Chitwan

Day 03: Drive to Kathmandu

I hope above information helps you a lot if not then please ask here.

With best regards,

Upendra
