Indian visa in bangkok- VFS closing -HELP

Hello,

I would really need somebody s help regarding the indian visa in bangkok. I came back to bangkok to sort it out as it seemed really easy and straightforward.and now it seems that the VFS office will shut down in 2 days.- so not sure if I should try to give them my passport.

http://www.ivac-th.com/

I do not see any other option, in the official page they just say that they will be shut down nothing else...Is there any other option than the kao san road travel agency - I am really on a budget and also wouldn t know which one to trust. I am not even sure it would work as indian visas seem harder to get...don t wanna give up my indian dream

does any one know what is the new process to apply for a visa in bangkok _ Thanks a lot

I just found this in another page- not really encouraging-

From 7 July 2013, VFS India Passport & Visa Application Centre will not be operational. The above arrangement is in order to provide effective delivery service until our last day of operations which is 6 July 2013."

So, it appear that VFS will be shutting up shop in Bangkok. However, the move feels rather shrouded in secrecy, as there's no further information to indicate where and how visa applications will be processed in the future -- neither on the VFS website, Indian Embassy website, nor the Internet (that I could find)

Hi,

I am in the same boat here, I arrive in Bangkok later this week and need to get my Indian visa pretty sharpish. From what I can gather you can courier it via Thai post offfices but all of them seem to be outside of Bangkok. Its all very confusing and if anyone knows any more about it I would LOVE to know as I am completely pulling my hair out!!!

Details of the new agency are on the website of the Embassy of India Bangkok. The new outsourcing agency is IVS Global pvt. I can't put a link as my copy /paste in all aspects is not functioning.

Hello,

Thanks Igirl ! Actually i decided for trying to solve everything on that day and run to the office, letting them documents and my passport. It should be okay i ll have to collect my passport and visa if I get it to the new office.( I guess doing everything in a hurry is never good anyway cause i just found out you can not do any volunteering on a tourist visa anymore ...)

Leetwohats, yes all the info is here, what you need to bring and where http://www.indianembassy.in.th/pages.php?id=18. It s inside bangkok and easy to go .

Building name: 253, Asoke, 22nd floor,

Opp: Rutnin Eye Hospital,

Soi 21, Sukhumvit, Bangkok . they should check everything there and tell you if anything is missing.

Just to let you know for me they said minimum 6 to 8 open days ( I think it was 5 before ) so I hope you ll have enough time

Cheers

Ahhh thanks guys!

Thats perfect, luckily I will have plenty of time to get it dropped in and sorted. It just seems a lot easier to drop it into somewhere rather then having to post it. Not sure why they have had to switch it all up like this but who cares as long as you can still get the visa! Hope all goes well with your visa Cath and you have a good time in India!

Hello,

I am in Bangkok to apply for my Indian Visa.

I just noted that in the documents to be provided for applying for turist visa (http://www.indianembassy.in.th/pages.php?id=34) there are also: Copy of return flight ticket and

Copy of Hotel Booking.

As I am still not sure how long I am going to stay in India and where I am going to go, I do not have any flight out of India booked and neither hotel bookings.

Can you please advise how you did please?

Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

At the time I did it I did not provide any hostel booking and it went fine ( More because i had to rush ). It is a different agency that deals now with the visa so I don t want to give you bad advice: you can book an hostel for 2-3 dollars so if it can help your visa...

Same for return flight : If I were you I would buy it to be on the safe side. I had to book the cheapest one ( I found Kolkata Bangkok for around 50 e but you might find cheaper to nepal maybe... ) . You can cancel them after.

Hope it helps

ps : I know it is actually funny cause they tell you " please wait for your visa to be confirmed before to do any travel arrangment " and at the same time they ask you for hostel and flight reservations.
