Uganda Safari in August

I hope it's ok to post this. It might help single travellers and people on a budget as well as us. My husband and I have booked a 14 day safari beginning on 2nd August. We're looking for other people to join us to bring down the cost and because it would be nice to share our experience with a few more people. The cost, not including gorilla permits ($500) and meals but including all other permits and fees, accomodation and bottled water is:

USD $2,940 per person if 2 people

USD $2,370 per person if 3 people

USD $2,065 per person if 4 people

USD $1,880 per person if 5 people

USD $1,760 per person if 6 people

USD $1,670 per person if 7 people

Single supplement - $405

The full itinery and contact details for the company is here: gorillatours.com/gorilla-tours/our-tours/14-…

This will be our first time in Uganda, and indeed sub-saharan Africa.

No, it's their budget option but a lot of the accomodation is classed as mid-range with some other companies. E.g.s of accomodation: Airport Guesthouse in Entebbe, Traveller's Rest in Kisoro, Kibale Forest Camp, Queen Elizabeth Bush Camp (both self contained tents.) Pictures of a lot of the accomodation are on this site: naturelodges.biz/index.php/…

I am single and planning to go on a gorilla trekking safari (3-4) days in mid April 2014. I am wondering whether any others would be keen to join?

Why not, it is possible, you can be assisted even when you are alone, to go all the way up the gorilla park. it depends on who advises you

Thanks for these postings - helpful encouragement and advice - I will consider starting my own thread once I have done further research. I hope to join an organised safari...any advice re through whom I should do so would be warmly accepted!
