My name is Orrin Hellerman and my friends and I went to sleep a night at "Speke Camp" just after the "Nile River Explorer Camp" in Jinja, Uganda.
We arrived with a vehicle and specifically asked if there are guards watching our car, they said that they have 2 guards protecting the premises and the parking area, one armed and one unarmed.
The next morning I get woken up at 07:30 by the guard requesting for me to check my vehicle as he was replacing the night shift, where the night shift guard told him that our car "was like that".
I get to the car, see the whole car trashed, front and rear windows smashed (my vehicle is a closed pick-up) and some gear thrown around - Our car got broken into and we lost 3000 USD.
We suspect that the guards were involved, because it is impossible to fall asleep nearby and not here someone smashing the car with giant rocks (found in our luggage area).
Whats even worse than that is that the management did not compensate or help in anyway and most importantly would not give us the owners details in order to discuss it with him. All our valuables were stolen, but even worse after all that is the way we were treated by them, I highly recommend for your safety not to sleep at that campsite.
