Uganda budget nature walk/trek

Looking at offered tours I could find online all are quite expensive for our budget.

We'd like to take 2 day or bit longer trekking into some nature (Bwindi perhaps or Ruwenzori area) taking our own tent and backpacks.

Could it be done? We'd pay park any entrance fee if necessary just can't really afford a guide etc.

Can you recommend some inexpensive nature walks in Uganda - we remain open as to where, 2 fit guys. So far we have booked 4 nights in Kampala and will probably go for day or two to Jinja.

Thank you

Hi Rob77,

Firstly there are no park entrance fees in the Bwindi park. Then there are some very cheap bandas at the park headquaters with simple facilities really basic.Camping out there could be ok but the weather there can get real bad

I suggest you do the nature walk in Bwindi(down to the community) or Bigodi swamp walk in Kibale Forest or the Mabamba swamp walk in Mpigi

Thanks
