We are going to Madagascar in Christmas time.
Is there any way to visit Tsingy (even by helicopter, hiring a big 4x4, or other means?).
We visit from Dec 20 to Jan 4.
December is rainy season and the road to Tsingy of Bemaraha is closed but if you could hire helicopter will be best option.
Others options in the north of Madagascar has Tsingy d’Ankarana same as Tsingy de Bemaraha in the south but this one is accessible by 4x4 even during rainy season.
Have nice Holiday!
To be honest, Tsingy of Bemaraha national park is not closed the whole year, till december the road from Belo to get in Bekopaky is still dry but the only problem is that most of the big Hotels there are closed although there're still some of them open their doors.
So, to sum it up, it's quiete wrong to say that it's impossible to visit Tsingy of Bemaraha on December, on the contrary it's so nice to go there because the vue is very very different from the dried season; the green vegetation between the rockforest, and also you can enjoy your tour as much as you can, not so many tourists.
The tsingy is officially closed on December. The access is difficult by 4wd. If you are ready, there is always some people ready to take you there. It is just an off-road experience. The price will probably higher. I know Madagascar and I know Malagasy people. It is on your risk!
Hotel are closed because it doesn't make sense to keep working for two visitors and pay for whole employee during three months.
You can take helicopter and land in Bekopaka or nearby the parking of the park which is one/two hours from the village of bekopaka.
