Re: Tripoli visit

My gay partner and I are considering a visit to Tripoli later this year. However, naturally we want to feel safe and comfortable. We never kiss or hold hands in public and never flaunt ourselves, we always prefer to blend into the background. Does anyone have any tips, advice or suggestions? I would also welcome any suggestions on accomodation. We were considering self catering but are warey of owners being too close. We are just seeking a cheap holiday with a mixture of beaches and also culture, neither of us like to bake on a beach for days on end!

hi and welcome to tripoli

first , libya is a muslim country si you should act stright all the time and do not try to find a homo life here because you will have so much trouble

tripoli has many good hotels , you will find them in tripadvisor

you can stay in tripoli and go for a one day trip to the historical cities of Sabratha (120 km ) & Lebtis magna (2 h by car)

in tripoli : visite the ( th eold town of tripoli) and the( italian quarter )& (the red castle)

the best beachs located in sabratha (white sand and blue water )

Dar tellil resort is the best place to stay

try to spend 2 days in Ghedames and enjoy the beautiful sahara ( touristic city so you will find many good hotels and activities )

people are very friendly , but you have to be carefull with the taxi drivers and try to negotiate the price

self catering is not a good idea for forigners , but in case (Janzour Village )20 min from downtown

for more info

Have a great trip!
