Botswana self-drive safari - trailer, tent or roof-top tent?

We are planning to drive to Botswana from Cape Town in our own vehicle (Land Rover Disco 4 or Fortuna, haven't decided yet). Is it better to try and get hold of a roof top tent or to hire an equipped trailer or put our ground tent up and down? We are worried about the maneuverability of a trailer. We plan to go to CKGR and Moremi. Any advice would be much appreciated.

We saw lots of trailer tents in both places last year. You South Africans made us green with envy with the great rigs you have or can hire and also have the confidence to tow. We were too nervous and had a roof top tent. The disadvantage of that is that you have to pack everthing up when you go out for a game drive. A trailer could be left behind. That looked perfect to us! C
