British safety in Zim

We are looking to travel to Vic Falls Zim early next year, my husband on a British passport and me on a South African passport.

We have heard stories and rumours about British citizens not being safe in Zim. I just want to hear some views on this, I am pretty sure we will be ok, but he is a bit woried. Thanks.

No worries at all, no truth to the rumour.

Who ever told you that is talking absolute rubbish! Im british, and have a couple of good friends who live in Zim. I've been out to visit them many times (including for 3 weeks last month) and have never encountered any issues with having a british passport.

If anything, it seemed to help at road blocks as i was allowed on my may as soon as the police saw i had a british passport!!!

You will be absolutely fine, go enjoy it!

I have visited Zim every year for the last 9 years, most recently earlier this month.

I am certainly not aware of any safety issues of specific concern to British citizens.

I am not concerned about safety (as a UK citizen), but I am concerned about hand luggage! Whats the restrictions from J'Burg to Vic Falls? I have an average sized back pack with camera stuff, and have read other posts where they inssiit it goes in hold!! Not an Option!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.
