We're in the final stages of planning an extensive trip to Africa over several weeks in early 2013 and will be flying from Victoria Falls to Nairobi. As far as we can see, all the major international tour companies do this by flying down to Johannesburg then back up to Nairobi. We have found flights advertised from Victoria Falls to Harare and then to Nairobi.
There don't appear to be any time advantages in transiting through Harare as the journey still takes 2 days, but are there any advantages to travelling via Johannesburg instead? Is it considered to be safer, are flights more reliable, or any other reason?
Thanks for your advice.
