Hi, my wife and I are planning a safari for Feb 2010. After some research, we have going to focus on Tanzania and South Africa. From my readings, Kenya seems really unsafe so we are going to skip. The preliminary thought is to spend 3 weeks there, including a few days in Cape Town and a few days in Zanzibar. That will give us about 2 weeks for safari, including transportation time. My questions are as follows:
1. Do you think Kruger National Park and the parks in Tanzania complement each other? In your opinion, should we safari in both countries or perhaps spend all the time in one country and slowly explore?
2. We just finished a road trip in Alaska and we really enjoyed seeing wildlife without nobody and no cars around. I know that's wishful thinking in Serengeti and Kruger, but we want to have as much "the park to ourselves" as possible by entering the gate as soon as it opens. Is this something the tour operator will realistically be able to accommodate?
