Flash Safaris and Photography

My husband and I had a fabulous experience with Flash Safaris. In the midst of a round-the-world trip we impulsively decided to stop in Tanzania. Unsure if we could organize a safari in our time frame, I emailed Magda at Flash and she responded promptly. She worked quickly to organize a guide, itinerary and accommodations that suited our request.

When we began the safari, we didn't quite know what to expect, but the entire experience greatly exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Tumaini, was awesome - so sweet and very knowledgeable about everything we saw.

We toured Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorogoro Crater and the Serengeti. We also did a tour of two Maasai villages - the modern Maasai outside of Arusha and then the traditional Maasai near Ngorogoro. Highly recommend the former as it felt extremely authentic. We learned a lot and got to do so in a genuine, relaxed manner. The visit to the traditional Maasai village is something I would have skipped. It was very touristy; they tried to force-sell me bracelets that I did not want to buy, and overall the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Definitely don't hesitate to go with Flash if you're on the fence. We'd repeat our trip with them in a heart beat!

In october we spend 15 days in Tanzania, we went on a Safari organized bij Magda and Staff. We had a tremendous time, we have seen so much animals and the nature is beautiful. Each park has his own speciality, Manyara national park, Serengeti, Ngorongoro with the crater and the Tarangire. Thanks to our gide Elias it was so impressive! At the Mara River we haven't seen the crossing but we saw the behaviour of the gnoe's, intended to go, That was amazing to see! We were waiting and watching for a few hours! All the lodges were very good, for sure the Tent lodges. While we were sleeping in the wildernis, we heard the lions. Everybody was so friendly! We have seen how the people of the Maasai are living and the traditions they have. We have a good impression how all of the people in Tanzania are living, their culture, it was very impressive to see! Everything was very well organized, the pick up from the airports en the flights included. The few days in Zanzibar were also very nice. We stayed in the hotel The Blue Oyster. It were a few relaxing days and the people were very friendly. The last day we went to the city Stonetown. It was great!

When you intent to go on a Safari in Tanzania the only address to arrange with is at Magda en Edward!!

We had a journey we will never forget and we will come back!!

Thanks for this great vacation!! Many greetings, Corina and Hans from Waalwijk, The Netherlands

We undertook a wonderful 10-day safari trip in Tanzania to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire with Flash Safaris and Photography. This safari truly was a once in a lifetime experience for us and we enjoyed every minute of this amazing trip!

Everything was well planned by Magda and her team. We had an excellent guide, Emmanuel, who was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and always took into consideration our wishes. We saw nearly all animals (Big 5, except for black rhino) and most of them from right in front of us at very close range. The lodges/camps were all very good, especially Rhotia valley tented lodge and children’s home, a real paradise to us. We enjoyed the food, the company, the nature, the wild animals and the comfortable atmosphere.

We left Tanzania with special memories that we will always cherish. Thank you, Flash Safaris and Photography!

We just came back from a wonderful vacation in Tanzania. We went spontaneous and therefore unorganized to Kilimanjaro and only had an email address of a Dutch woman named Magda of Flash Safaris and Photography. From the moment I emailed her for an inquiry for a safari it felt really familiar and personal. Within a day she arranged a possible program that suited our pricing and requests. Though we needed even a very exclusive personal visit of her team on Zanzibar to match the program to our needs.

We had a short but intense safari with great accommodations, like Olea Africana Lodge (new) and the wonderful Roika Tented Lodge where you get escorted by the Masai to prevent any wild animal encounters when you walk to your tent. These resorts are careful selected by her team to make sure they meet their own high standards on personal service.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Tarangire National park are wonderful and unique by its own. Not a day was the same and was well organised but still free to any special demands. We had a very safe and experienced driver (Abraham) who used his more than 20 year experience to find special places and animals.

When you plan to go on holiday to Tanzania you need Flash Safaris and Photography to make sure you get the best personalized program.

Edward, Abraham and Magda! Many thanks for the quick and exclusive service and see you next time when we do the Serengeti.

Have a nice holiday season and all the best for the new year.

Greetings from Amsterdam,

Fardau and Jeroen

My wife and I travelled to Rwanda and Tanzania for our honeymoon from Dec. 27 2013 until January 24 2014. We had the good fortune of having everything meticulously organized by Magda from Flash Safaris (based out of Arusha, Tanzania). This turned out to be the best decision we have ever made. Neither my wife, nor I were extremely confident about our decision to spend our honeymoon in East Africa due to constant travel advisory warnings from our national government and the recent massacre at a Kenya shopping centre. All of fears were alleviated by the excellent service we received from Flash Safaris from the get go. Our trip was slightly unorthodox because we wanted to go to Kigali, Rwanda to see the silverback gorillas and not just visit Tanzania exclusively. Magda put this together for us with absolutely no issues and Rwanda turned out to be the highlight of our vacation (which also included climbing to the top of Kili, a week of safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater and scuba diving and snorkelling in and around Zanzibar). All of our preferences for the vacation were pieced together in an orderly manner by Magda and her team which included some key players like Edward. Edward, Magda’s business partner, was the person who welcomed us not only into Tanzania, but also into his own home where we met his amazing family. Edward was the key to the success of our time spent in Tanzania as he has established a strong network of individuals to help guide the safaris and lead the hike up Kilimanjaro. Edward oversaw all of our departures and arrivals through our time in Tanzania, including picking us up at the Kilimanjaro Airport when we first arrived in Arusha and then both he and Magda saw us off to Zanzibar when we left Arusha. Actually, they went one step further and accommodated us through our delayed flight at a fine local BBQ spot between Arusha and the airport. Always surprising us with their hospitality and kindness, Magda and Edward have a great thing going with Flash Safaris and I’d highly recommend this company if you are considering travelling to East Africa. We met other travellers along the way who had used Flash Safaris to book their trip and they echoed our sentiments. Thanks Flash! (**side note, if you are doing Kili, ask for Matthew and/or John as your guides. They were both excellent and highly recommended. Also, for accommodation, we especially loved the Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha and the Blue Oyster Hotel on the East Coast of Zanzibar).

We did a very similar itinerary with Flash Safaris as stated in the above post in February 2014. We had a 2 week safari leaving from Arusha and a week in Zanzibar. I totally agree with everything stated with corina z's post about how great Flash Safaris is. So rather than repeat everything that corina z said, what you need to know is this, you can pay a lot of money for a safari tour ,organized by a company in your own country, but the routes, camps and drivers are the same. We met people along the way who were doing exactly what we were doing but paid much more. There are many expensive lodges to stay in, but the tented camps are a great value. They all have queen to king sized beds showers and flush toilets. The food is also very good with their own chefs. The drivers are all experienced guides and freelance , so work for a variety of companies. The safari that Flash Safaris organizes for you is excellent at a very reasonable cost. We had a great guide, Abraham , who pointed out all the animals for us, as they were often hard to spot. We saw herds of elephants that walked right in front of our vehicle , Cheetos , leopards, prides of lions, hippos, rhinos, Cape buffalo and much more. Flash Safaris (Magda and Edward) are reliable, trustworthy and look after you from start to finish. I would recommend this company and their personalized service without hesitation. You will not be disappointed.
