Supermarket/restaurants near Paradise Sun Hotel, Praslin

Hello, does anyone know how far the nearest supermarket is from Paradise Sun Hotel in Praslin please? We have 13 of us staying there (for our wedding) and understand drinks are expensive in all hotels so would like to be able to walk to get provisions where possible.

Also are there any reasonable restaurants nearby that would take a group booking? We are not sure where to have dinner (all of us) after the wedding - maybe at the hotel - ideally a relaxed beach BBQ would be great. We are not "foodies" so as relaxed a place as possible would be our choice. Any help advice appreciated - thank you.

Hello Holiday Minx,

The nearest supermarket is 5-7 mins walk on the beach. There are small supermarkets from which you can easily make some stocks of drinks (Seybrew - 23 Rs, Eku - 26 Rs, Natural juices 1L - 25-30 Rs, water, other refreshing non-alcoholic drinks). Most of them have also wines and spirits.

As for the restaurants you have Pirogue and La Goulue restaurants, contact them directly when you get there and make the reservation.

You have also Les Lauriers but main dishes here are made with seafood and the prices are higher because it is buffet style.

We preferred Pirogue to La Goulue when we were there. Food was much better and not much more expensive. Also, Pirogue is more open, and I think larger and could accommodate your party easily. It's shorter to walk along the beach from Paradise Sun to the village if the tide is low. If not , short cut through Berjaya hotel. Enjoy!
