Hi,

If you stay in a hotel you have to either take taxis into town or use their shuttle service which restricts you a bit. Hotels will have proper swimming pools whereas Riads generally only have plunge pools if that is important for you.

A luxury Riad has you right in the middle of things and most sights are within walking distance. With a Riad you also have the help of the owners and staff to personalise your stay and lots of tips on where to eat etc.

Have a look in the green tab labelled hotels at the top of the page. You can set parameters regarding price, facilities etc to narrow things down.

If you like the look of somewhere maybe send a message via their profile to a few reviewers with specific questions about what you want from your stay.

i vote for a riad...traditional, and fabulous...especially, if you are getting a "luxury" one!!

beautiful doors, on the crazy medina..and go inside for your tranquility.

Does sound tempting but some of the new hotels look absolutely amazing too! And seem to have lush grounds to soak up a few ray s after sight seeing

Experiencing a riad accommodating is great in Morocco, but you should make sure in advance it is well-equipped.

Hi SamuelJames21,

It sounds like you prefer the hotel option so go for that (though you don't know what you'll be missing ;-)

The luxury hotels are all the same no matter where you travel. Why stay in an posh bubble when the Marrakech experience is all about the chaotic sounds, smells, colors, tastes, getting lost in the souk...

Many lovely riads in the medina--all you wish plus personal attention from owners and staff who care about your stay. Step outside your comfort zone and truly enjoy the city.

I appreciate your thoughts but these new hotels look fabulous and not certainly run of the mill, the other option is La Sultana, which seems to be great too

I agree with DixonTurnip and charley48 - a bland uninspired unauthentic modern hotel or the real experience of staying in, and experiencing, the ancient medina. But it seems like you have already made your mind up SamuelJames21. In only three nights you would be missing the whole point of visiting Morocco.
