Nightlife & Where to Stay

Just after some advice. Looking to go Marrakech in them middle of Jan for a Stag do (5days ) Wed to Sat.

What are peoples opinions of the night-life ? . Is it busy? What a the clubs to definitely go to ?

Also what areas are the best to stay? IS it better to stay in a hotel or villa? We want to be central and nearest to the night-life as possible?

All the advice is appreciated!!!

Hi we are just back. Firstly bring plenty of money with you. A bottle of beer is 70 dirham which is about 5.40 sterling. This is just a standard size bottle! We nearly had a heart attack when we realised. Le comptoir is ok-nice ambience. Belly dancers appear at 10 30 pm and again later on. Its mostly French club/techo music as is everywhere. The clubs all start at midnight which was too late for our taste-you lose all the next day in bed. They go on to 6 or 7 am. If you want to keep the beer bill down a bit there is an expat pub called the chesterfield pub attached to the hotel nassim on mohammed v avenue.(note there is also a mohammed vi avenue so dont get them mixed up). Its a pleasant looking little pub but not exactly rocking. Its supposed to liven up a bit on Friday nights or so I heard. Anyway its a bit cheaper at 45 dirham which is about 3.40 sterling a bottle. Might do for a few early ones before hitting the top dollar places.

there are lots of night clubs and bar in Marrakech mostly in the area called Gueliz and also as mentioned before outside town Le Pacha.. If you go to Marrakech more for the stag do than a cultural experience stay in a hotel in gueliz . It's far less hassle to get back late at night that find your way in the small alleys of the medina. And remeber all the girls you will meet at nightin night clubs or bars are there for the money
