I imagine you are long gone from Marrakech, but what you should have done is to have reported this to the tourist police station (Brigade Touristique) on the edge of Djemaa el Fna.

Bit late to report it on here, and there's nothing anyone can do other than commiserate.

Ramadan ended two months ago and you hear from you first now? Maybe you were not dressed properly and it was Ramadan, right sensitive time for Muslims.

DavidDaoud, your reply is completely inappropriate, victim blaming rubbish that is staggeringly devoid of empathy. You should be deeply ashamed of yourself.

I'm sorry you had this experience.

Don't EVER think you're guilty. No matter what you were wearing, how late you comment, how much people laght saying it's a joke or you facilitate the chance or how little they believe or how slight your injuries are. You were atacked.

Women are afraid of dressing and time and place for being and plan strategies to survive but it doesn't mean it's our moral obligations. We simply doesn't have the same protection as men do.

Your comments here does help future visitors to take care by knowing this kind of "welcome" exists, although is not the general rule.

Hi there..

well..well..

Can happen.

For me too.. this first time post..seems odd to me and especially for 2 reasons..( might be wrong for sure..)

1) when a problem as this one really happens ..the poster usually does not wait such a long time to express himself here or elsewhere..

2)for another reason maybe not the same..a very " addicted poster " who is getting in love with blaming more or less all ..about Morocco ..reappear magically..

3) regarding the way of being dressed or not..

I presume that adapting ourselves to the different cultures and places and to be in fact just having a little sens of adaptation should be the best way to avoid some problems and to feel comfortable where ever you are or go..and not only in Morocco or during the ramadan

Just some common sense useful sometimes to avoid some problems ..here or elsewhere.

I just get back from the cool park behind the Koutoubia with my puppy and we just met..an absolutely gorgeous young lady & blond & court shoes and an high class black dress very lovely but..suggestive indeed and totally not appropriate in the medina ( old town ) around midnight even if escorted with one single guy.

I would say that the lady was really full of grace but I just said to my mate.." she worries me dressed this way "

Last..maybe..for sure..it is difficult to again blame somebody without knowing and I will be the first to deeply apologize to be a little suspicious too if wrong.

And.lets say.all this is so common in the all world and much more atrocity as we know all happen everywhere and anytime.

Faithfully,Olli.
