1 night stay in Casablanca. Where?

Hi all, Spending 1 night in Casablanca before we fly home. Will be staying in Riads in the rest of the country so not that important here.

Would like a clean quiet safe nice place to sleep. Being close to the main attractions for our one afternoon of sight seeing would be good. Flying out first thing following morning.

We want to see the famous old Mosque, eat a good meal, have a drink, see the medina or waterfront (maybe not since its end of February and may be too cold) and thats it.

All the hotels seen online are either too expensive or have the worst reveiws.

Do you want to see the city or the medina?

The new Atlas Airport Hotel is convenient if you have an early flight. See www.hotelsatlas.com; rates start at around US$40.

For hotels in the city, please quote your budget.

Budget is up to $120 US, just because everything looks expensive in Casablanca. As long is it fits the needs listed above and is close to the few things we would like to do, anything would work for us.

Try:

Best Western Toubkal (www.bestwestern.com) - Very central but nothing special.

Club Val d'Anfa (www.anfahotel.ma) - Good value for money, near the ocean, but quite far from the city center.

Al Mounia (www.almouniahotel.ma) - OK'ish and very, very central.

Then, of course, there's always the good old Ibis Moussafir, part of the Accor group. It's next to the railway station. Good for one night, but more like a motel than a hotel. Get a room away from the railway yard.

By the way, the "famous old mosque" was built between 1986 and 1993.

Yes I saw that about the "old" mosque. My mistake. Sorry.

Will look into your suggestions now. Thank you again for the help.
