Booking riads/hostels/tours on arrival

Hi everyone,

Me and my boyfriend are going to Morocco for 15 days (May 1st-15th)

We start in Marrakech and have booked a three night stay in a riad and we are ending the holiday with a 4 night stay in Agadir RIU Tikida Palace

But we are a bit unsure as to our plans in between this time - we may stay a few more days in Marrakech, or go on a trek for a few nights.

Then possibly travel up to Essaouira for a few nights before going down to Agadir.

My question is, is it advisable to wait until we get there to book hostels or riads (have a look at different choices) depending on what/where we'd decide to go/do?

I am always on here looking at hostels reviews and places to go, but really unsure as whether there will anything available when we get there!?

Also, my brother went last year and didnt book his trek until he arrived - him and his gf managed to haggle the price and got it for around £90 each for a two night trip and loved it. Is this recommended? As most forum posts seem to lean towards booking before you leave, but they are far too expensive for us.

Any help would be muchly appreciated :-)

The beginning of May is a very busy time in Morocco so it could be hard to find a room in your chosen hostel or Riad but you should always be able to find somewhere to stay. Similarly due to the high season tour places could be difficult to find when you arrive but you may be lucky.

I apologise if this doesn't sound very helpful ;-)

Any advice is matter than non :-)

I figured it would be a bit of a gamble...we more or less know what we want to do but are unsure on times at each place

But we both like to plan as we go, just in case we want to stay longer in one place and less in another
