Safari

This may seem like a silly question....but..........

My daughter and her friend are going to Amsterdam next year.

They want to fly from there to Marbela, Spain and then take a boat ride to Morocco, Africa. They are wanted to take some sort of a Safari while in Africa but it is too costly to go to South Africa so they were wondering what might be close to Morocco.

You can fly from Amsterdam to Marbela (well, the nearest airport to Marbela) in

southern Spain for real cheap, and right around a 2-hr flight. Then once we

stay in Marbela Spain for a few days, we take a one-hour boat ride over to

Morocco, which is Africa. We'll just visit Morocco for the day, and then we are

trying to figure out if we can take a 2-3 day safari of some sort w/out having

to go down to South Africa (it's real expensive) so we want to stay somewhere in

northern Africa to do the safari.

Also, they are wanting to see lots of animals in their habitat and not just geographical things.

Geographically, Morocco is more akin to Southern Europe than Sub-Saharan Africa. You cannot do a safari in Morocco or anywhere else that I know of north of the desert(Tunisia, Egypt). The wildest thing you'll see here is a donkey....maybe a camel if you go really far down south.

If you want a safari (animals in wild habitat, jeeps, tents, etc) you've got to pay the money and go south of the sahara.

Geography! Morocco is no where near the "wild animal safari" part of Africa. Try a nice photo safari in Fes or a couple of day camel safari in Merzouga.

If you're looking for wild animals you gotta go SOUTH and a long way south!

Thanks so much for both your replies. I appreciate your expertise.

Maybe she will just have to leave that part out of their travel plans.
