No idea where it is but that makes the bottom of my feet hurt! WHY would anyone get that close to the edge like that???
(Am I the only one that gets a tingle on the bottoms of their feet when they are close to an edge up high? My husband thinks I'm a weirdo!)
I do not know the location, but the shot was done with a fairly wide-angle lens, relatively close to the human in the foreground. The WA lens will exaggerate the "apparent distance" between the foreground, and the background. That is just the opposite of a tele-photo lens "apparently compressing" distances, making foreground seem closer to the background.
Nice shot though, and hope that others can pinpoint the location for you.
Might be on the Kamehame Ridge Trail, close to the Dead Man's Catwalk.
This trail is not a legal trail, and is very dangerous.
Curiosity & boredom has got the better of me so I did a google image search and I think your right Jet83.
Have a look at these photos in order. What is the pontoon on the water - can tourists visit as it appears to be stationary or present in many photos?

& notation regarding "a fishpond" ?

Thank you Jet - adding Waimanalo to my bucket list now :)
Awesome thanks guys!!
I was researching more and thought it might be the Puu Manamana trail
The concrete platform at "Dead Man's Catwalk" was recently ripped out. This was done to try and eliminate the attractive nuisance it presented and the ensuing liability. More signage has been added as well, marking the trail as closed (again!).
Yep, they took a jack hammer out there and blasted the "catwalk" into oblivion.
