Standard Room or Villa at Aulani?

The prices are coming up pretty much the same. Just wondering if anyone knows which is "better" Two Adults and a 2 year old.

Standard "hotel" room or a Studio Villa. Both have a standard view (it's expensive enough as it is I'm not paying extra for a view)

Is it room size? We have only ever rented a two bedroom villa there so can’t help exactly. I think from what I’ve read the hotel has two beds whereas the studio may have a bed and a sofa bed? Does the studio come with microwave possibly?

Yep, studio has microwave and slightly larger (and less noisy) fridge. Overall room is smaller than the hotel room, and does indeed only have the one (queen size) bed plus sofa bed. Comes down to whether you find the extra proper bed or microwave more useful.

Can anyone confirm that the Studio Villas DON'T have a bathtub?

With a 2 year old this could be the deal breaker. We need a tub so may have to go with the hotel room.

I'd prefer one bed and a sofa bed over two beds though. I wonder if the hotel rooms have that option?

In the details I posted earlier it states that both rooms have a tub - normally with the shower overhead. The two bedrooms have that set up in the second bathroom with the main bathroom having a separate bath and a massive shower.

Pretty sure the hotel rooms only have 2 beds - you can’t pick and choose.

Ok thanks I read that but on the floor plans there's no tub and all the online videos I've seen also show no tub in the studio villas.

Strange they don't have various bedding configurations, most resorts and hotels do offer different bedding types to suit various travelers needs.

Reservations staff at Aulani are very helpful - you can call or email them and they will help you out and be able to suggest the best room for your needs. We've always called to book so we can ask specific questions about the room and facilities.

Villas only have Queen beds. Hotel rooms come with either 2 doubles or a king with sleeper sofa. We got a king last time we were there, but it wasn't easy. We had to wait awhile and talk to 2 people to finally get one. There are very few king rooms apparently.
