Well the weatherman said last night that it was supposed to be calm winds today, so took the kayak down to paddle out onto the reef. It was around 7:30 AM and a beautiful morning. Nice and calm and we paddled way out through the channel. Looking back on the mountains was so beautiful. They have turned nice and green from all of the rain we had. We spotted a head pop up out of the water just ahead of us. I thought it was a turtle and DH said he thought it was a monk seal. Before we could get closer to check it out, BOOM out of nowhere the winds picked up and brought some good waves with it. We had to "dig" out way back in and we were both soaked by the time we made it back in. :(

Hmmmmmm, mister weatherman, nice and calm huh? :) Oh well, we got back safe and sound but boy, you can really get into trouble way out there if you don't know where the channel is. It was low tide and you could very easily hit a large coral head and flip.

It was nice to be out on the water again. This year has been so windy that we've only used our kayak a few times!

Sounds wonderful! Bet you were paddling up a storm (pun sorry) in that wind and waves. (How about a picture upload and a link for us poor souls not in paradise and back in America? LOL!)
