can you drink alcohol on the beach in maui? by no means i dont mean getting drunk...but just having a beer.

It's against the law.

Lots of people do it. In fact we saw people openly drinking at just about every beach we visited on our 2 trips to Hawaii. However, "everyone does it" probably won't help if you do get busted.

Not that I would ever break the law but some "friends of ours" would mix some drinks in a water bottle and use that.

Drinking is illegal and cops can give you a hard time about it. I don't drink on the beach simply because I tend to be a stickler for rules...however as long as you aren't disorderly no harm no foul.

We have never had a problem.... espicially if you pour it into a glass and keep it in the cooler.
