Best way to get to La Ceiba from Los Angeles, CA

Now that I've been assured of the safety of the area, I'm considering a family vacation in La Ceiba. Does anyone have any advice regarding the best way to fly there from L.A.? Or from Texas? I understand there may be direct flights from Houston.

You'll have to fly to San Pedro sula via Miami, Houston, Atlanta etc. from there it's a 10 min flight or a 3 hour bus or taxi. Personally I wouldn't fly all the way from Cali for a vacation in la ceiba. A couple of days outside la ceiba in the pico bonito cloud forest is nice. Diving and snorkeling in the bay islands is spectacular. The Mayan ruins in copan are worth a few days but la ceiba..... Not so much

You may be able to fly la to la ceiba on taca but you'll probably have to change planes 2-3 times & fly overnightvia el Salvador. Personally as someone who's spent much of the last 7 yrs in Honduras, I wouldn't fly all the way from Cali for a vacation in la ceiba.
