FYI to TA colleagues
3*Tropic Air Tours from Belize to Tikal
Problem 1: Originally, billed as one night; only by accident found out it was changed to two nights without advising us
Problem 2: Checked into airline counter desk and was told we didn’t need any vouchers; fifteen minutes later they corrected their mistake.
Problem 3: No one picked us up at the Flores airport to transfer us to the hotel.
Problem 4: the hotel (Isla de Flores) was really bad; we were the only guests there.
We loved the Flores island (?) for its charm and lake view. [Cafe La Luna was great].
5*Tikal: The actual tour of Tikal was three plus hours. It was a one hour drive from Flores to Tikal proper over a nice road.
Need to bring light rain jacket, camera, bug spray, shoes to walk in mud and climb.
The park is large and must walk everywhere. There are refreshment stands and bathrooms through the park.
Our dean of the guides Juan Antonio aka “Tony” was very good
