Passport

We plan on traveling to Guatemala next year on vacation. Is a passport all u need?

If it's a US passport, that's all you need. You'll fill out a form on the plane for immigration which will serve as your "visa" while your in the country. Just hold onto it and turn it in to immigration when you depart.

Couple of tips. Take along a couple of photo copies of your passport so you don't have to take it out for things like checking into hotels. A US passport is a ticket to heaven for most folks on this planet. You don't want people to see you waving it around. Also, scan the id page and email it to a web based email account like hotmail. I keep scans of passport, all credit cards and in the old days travelers checks stored that way. Also phone numbers and anything else you need if you had your documents lost or stolen.
